Hi! My name is David.
Here are a few things about me:
I have two little sisters, one of whom is a teacher and the other is a product designer. I have one very hyperactive German Shepard called Cedar; who has the most meticulously well maintained teeth ever seen in a dog. I am a huge fan of Japanese animator and film writer Hayao Miyazaki and I own the entire Studio Ghibli Collection. I also enjoy many outdoor pursuits including kayaking, mountaineering, cross country mountain biking and open water swimming.
I support the work of public access defibrillators as AED’s save lives. I currently work as a First Responder within a small team; we are often on call day and night covering remote parts of Lancashire. Our aim is to provide emergency medical and life support to people in remote locations where access to ambulances is either difficult or may take longer to reach.
Fun Fact: I once shook hands with Stephen Gerard at Liverpool FC
Fancy Professional Stuff
I have always had an interest in working in dental practices but was also keen on the whole management side of things and so I decided to balance the two and became a Dental Practice Manager.
And so here I am!
I joined St Raphael’s at the start of 2011 as the Practice Manager. Qualifying as a Dental Nurse in 2008, I went on to further achieve the Licentiateship in Dental Nursing in 2013 and now I am studying part time for a degree in management specialising in human resources development.
What I enjoy most about my role is the development and management of clinical governance operations and for many years now I have supported St Raphael’s to consistently provide our patients with high quality, effective and well led dental care in a safe and caring environment. In 2014 I joined the Care Quality Commission as a Dental Advisor and continue to support regulatory inspection of dental practices against robust national regulations.
Interesting Side Note: I served as a reservist between 2009 and 2016 for the Royal Army Dental Corps.
