St Raphael’s Dental Practice is a modern practice in Upholland Village, five miles from Wigan town centre. The practice offers both NHS and private cosmetic dental treatments and was established in November 2009 by the current owner and dentist, Dr Raphy Paul.
Our practice team consists of four dentists including a dental implantologist, an advanced dental hygienist, qualified dental nurses and a practice manager.
Dr Paul has practised dentistry for more than a decade. He achieved the MFDS (RCS) and MFGDP postgraduate qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons and also works on a sessional basis teaching undergraduate dental students at Liverpool Dental Hospital.
Our practice offers a high-quality dental service for both NHS and private clients. We work hard to provide a client-focused environment catering to all needs and providing dental care in a safe and comfortable environment.
The practice is based in a listed building which has been renovated to a high standard, allowing us to offer state-of-the-art treatment in an outstanding setting.
We are rated as fully compliant by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and we worked hard as a team to achieve Good Practice Award status from the British Dental Association in 2012. In 2013, we were officially recognised as a centre of excellence by Investors in People.
We are advanced in the treatment of nervous patients and those with differing degrees of dental phobia. We have helped many patients overcome their fears and love to see them attending their appointments happily and without fear. You can read their reviews and testimonials on our website.
Our main focus as a practice is on preventative dentistry, while treatment will always be part of our work, we would rather help our patients to manage their own oral health and make the best decisions for long-term care.
We recommend seeing your dentist regularly in order to maintain your oral health at the best possible level. Your dentist will advise you about how frequently you need to see us and, along with the hygienist, will explain how you can prevent gum disease and tooth decay. Following this advice will minimise your need for further treatment in future. That’s simply why we do what we do 🙂
