Our Recognition

BDA Good Practice Scheme

In 2012 our dental practice was officially recognised by the British Dental Association and we were awarded membership of the British Dental Association Good Practice Scheme.  The scheme recognises dental practices who are committed to quality and providing the best level of patient care.

The Good Practice Scheme benefits

There are many benefits joining a dental practice that has been awarded the BDA’s Good Practice Scheme:

  • The practice has in place quality assurance framework
  • Provides recognition for our practice’s commitment to a quality standard
  • Helps to keep our practice up to date with training and development
  • Assists development of a confident, professional and inspired dental team
  • Improves patient communication and transparency
  • Supports the development of the practice and patient services

The Good Practice Scheme Quality Statement

The purpose of the BDA Good Practice Scheme – ten simple commitments that sum up everything the good practice scheme strives for:

  1. We aim to provide dental care of consistently good quality for all patients
  2. We only provide care that meets your needs and wishes
  3. We aim to make your treatment as comfortable and convenient as possible
  4. We look after your general health and safety while receiving dental care
  5. We follow current guidelines on infection control
  6. We check for mouth cancer and tell you what we find
  7. We take part in continuing professional development to keep our skills and knowledge up-to-date
  8. We train all staff in practice-wide work systems and review training plans once a year
  9. We welcome feedback and deal promptly with any complaints
  10. Every member of the practice is aware of the need to work safely under General Dental Council guidelines

Investors in People

Investors in People are a scheme set up in 1991.  The scheme sets standards for organisations to recognise the contribution made by the people who work for our organisation; the scheme lays out a process and demonstrates a commitment to quality management and the standard sets out objectives meaning we are striving to continually improve the practice through recognising of the people who work for our practice by providing them with training, continued learning and development.

For organisations meeting the standard, they are officially recorgnised by Investors in People and in 2013 our practice was recognised as meeting the standard.
